It is situated on a beautiful tree lined street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Park Place, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The street is one of the historic brownstone blocks that Park Slope is known for. Fifth Avenue is one of the popular shopping streets in Park Slope with many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, boutiques, and stores that are fun to browse and shop. The CommunityBeGood Guest House is just a few blocks from the new Barclays Center and one of New York City’s largest transportation hubs which makes it very convenient to get to Manhattan in just a few minutes as well as to Brooklyn’s attractions.
The guest house has four rooms for visitors. Most of the rooms sleep two with the possibility of fitting in an additional child.
Visitors are invited to use the kitchen and dining area for preparing light meals and having coffee and breakfast. There have also been times when guests have prepared full dinners and even had parties in our house.
The guest house has a common area with cable television. There is also WiFi throughout the building making internet access easy.
There is a shared bathroom on each floor.
The guest house also has a big backyard garden which is an enjoyable, quiet spot to relax when the weather is suitable.
Most visitors come for a few days when visiting New York for any number of reasons and want the more personal, lower cost hospitality than that of a hotel. Guests who have stayed at our include people coming to New York for special events such as graduations, weddings and family reunions. Other guests have been people who came to the big apple as visitors to go to the theater and see the city. Some visitors have stayed at the guest house when needing to be in New York for conferences, interviews, or professional meetings.
On occasion there have been larger groups that have stayed at the guest house. In these situations lower rates are available.
Lisel Burns owns and lives in the building and is there to welcome guests and make sure that their needs are addressed. She is also a very knowledgeable resource with suggestions and recommendations for enjoying the neighborhood, transportation, etc.
CommunityBeGood has partnerships with a number of different international social action groups and donates 30% of the room rental income to support their work.
